turkish mauser
hi! i am a new member as of today. i have collected a few mausers over the years in good condition.
i am not sure if this the right place to post this question or not. if not, please point me in the right direction.
i picked up and old (1941) turkish mauser that is a beater but a good shooter on a trade.
i am finally getting around to restocking and bluing. barrel and action mostly good but some pitting and missing bluing.
i plan on rebluing, should i sand blast it first to get rid of the old bluing? i have never sand blasted before but have the gear.
thanks in advance- chaplain 1

Hi!
New to collecting. Best in my small collection is an M1903 (mfg. 1919) and re-barreled in '42.

Hellow MV fans
I fell in love with the old WWII Dodge 4x4 trucks.....all of'em! I may be 74 years old....but, still like driving and collecting them. But, I just got my first WWII 1943 half-track. They are a lot easier to drive, than a submarine. LOL. God bless, David

Parker Hale 1200TX: G'Day!
Hey guys, totally new to this caper: this is (I hope it works) my very first sign up/thread message anywhere/ever. Am rebuilding my Parker Hale 1200TX (SN: 0263) that I purchased new back in late 1975, and last shot competitively in late 1977 when I racked up a 49/9 at a thousand with an open blade at the Queens Cup shoot in Williamstown (Melbourne). Have recently had a 5 x row 30" Krieger 1:10 barrel fitted onto the Mauser action, after hand milling the entire stock with an 1 1/4" router bit in a pedestal drill to suit the larger 1 1/4" barrel and replacing the old PH bedding with 19770 Devcon Special F (HVAC) in the last ten days; I sealed what was not bedded with Norglass (shipshape) undercoat primer before topping it off with red and green 2-pack epoxy. In the last four days, I have been busy french-polishing the stock.

Swiss rifles
Triumph today! Finally, after 8 months of experimentation, my private-purchase K31 target rifle with the W+F aperture sights hit the bull most times at 300m with a 6 o'clock hold when I did my bit. The key fact I missed earlier: Swiss rifles are zeroed at around 450m (!). That my friends is why a K31 hits 30cm HIGHER at 300m than at 100m, the projectile is still on the way UP the trajectory curve.
Just a slow learner really.
