A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Hello, new member here from NY (not the city).

Just getting into this. I have a 1944 Mauser K98icon that my grandfather (3d Army) brought back from WWII. It had been kept in the safe until passed along to my son (12) last year. The first it had ever been fired was a few months ago. All matching numbers.

We just also acquired a 1942 Mosin Nagant 91/30 sniper, all matching numbers, also apparently never fired (until yesterday). Amazing how accurate that gun is. We were hitting 8-10's at 100 yards within minutes of cleaning it and initial sighting of the scope.

Joined to learn more and hoping to expand our collection.

Hey from WA state! First post on this forum, veteran member of a few other firearms forums under the same name (AKFiles, Arfcom, Cast Boolits, M4C, CZFirearms). I've been collecting guns for 8 years and have amassed a very diverse collection of everything from scary black rifles to WW1 bolt guns to 9mm sub guns and much more. I just got my C&R last year and as a result I've collected a number of WW1 miltary bolt guns as well as a couple WW2 ones as well. I'm working on collecting at least one sample of service rifle from each major power involved in the Great War which has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. I happen to be a big history buff and have always been fascinated by WW1 and WW2 history as well as all military history in general.

I'm into every type of gun imaginable but in terms of my C&R guns my favorites are by far my Enfields (my top sweetheart being my 1916 BSA No 1 MKIII). In fact old school Britishicon small arms are my favorite overall category of C&R/antique firearms. Second on my list of C&R favorites would be my Mausers (my favorite being my KAR 98AZ). The Gew/KAR 98 series rifles are absolutely amazing firearms and the Mauser clones from all over the world are as badass as they are numerous.

Generally speaking I shoot AKs, ARs, and my other modern firearms the most out of any of my guns (especially my Scorpion EVO, hot damn that thing is amazing). I build AKs and assemble ARs regularly and dabble in all sorts of gunsmithing projects. I also just got into reloading and bullet casting several months ago due to the relatively high cost of feeding my hungry C&R bolt guns with factory cartridges.

Anyways this is running way longer than it should lol. Happy to be here at Milsurps. It seems like a ridiculous wealth of knowledge in classic military arms is available within this forum and I'm very excited to surf through the theads.

    Lee-Speed BSA .303

I have recently acquired a Lee-Speed, BSA Enfield Officer's Carbine. Yes, it is the Ghost and Darkness gun! It came with a non original but period correct 10 round magazine. I am looking for an Enfield No1, 5-round magazine.Attachment 87976
