I am a new member and I'm into military surplus rifles. I started at a late age and am having a ball in the history of these rifles. However, I am having a problem locating amo for an 1889 Swiss Schmidt-Rubin rifle. Can anyone help me in locating it. I also need a magazine for the rifle as well.

My name is Philip Williams....long time shooter and just started collection military weapons. I have a 1945 Mosin Nagant in prime condition and just picked up a 1945 Enfiled No.4 Mk 1* T Long Branch sniper w/matching serial number scope i purchased from a lady whos father just died and she hates guns and wanted to get rid if it..She wanted $4000 for it (appraisal) and I offered her $2100. Mint, Mint condition and all numbers match. I will post pics later and wanted to get everyones opinion on value....I may want to sell it. Also got a German Mauser sport hunting rifle. Has serial number but no other info on it. Has the 98 action and the front site, receiver, trigger guard and mag cover all have fancy scrolling on them. Trigger is gold. Think its a 8 mm mag but dont know for sure. I will also post pics of it as well.

Hi there! My understanding is that you can only get ammo for your rifle at the competitions held through the various Swiss clubs. I don't know where you are, but maybe the info one this page could help: Swiss Society of Vancouver
Good luck!
