New guy from The State of Shock.
Long term lurker. I seem to find most of the answers to my questions in others posts. I enjoy reading about “Barn Finds” restorations and particularly the unusual and obscure.
Oh..From Calfabulous the State of Shock!

Hello tl all
Hi,
My name is Mike and I collect military surplus weapons. I don't think it's an addiction, but...
WW1 and WW2 mainly.
Thanks for the add.

Looking forward to some entertaining conversations.

I'm from the younger generation, but I bring a lot to the table. I have a wide range of firearms from cowboy action types all the way to modern types and a lot of military guns from all over the world. Mausers are probably my soft spot.
I have getting close to 20 years experiance reloading, including a lot of milsurp calibers and even some obsolete cartridges military and commercial. Always interested in talking reloading if anyone else is also.
I did honestly join mainly for the classifieds, but absolutley look forward to the discussions!

Hello,
I like to collect vintage military items, mostly hats. To be quite honest, I joined this forum to help fill in the blanks in my research on vintage hats. Can't wait to start asking questions!

Brand new collector
I've always wanted a M1 Garand. I already have a SA M1A1 in an Sage EBR stock.
My 21 yr old adult son and I just attended our first Apple Seed, at which we both earned our rifleman patch. So I ordered us each a M1 from the CMP.

Bren Collector: Back to collecting after a Fifteen year gap!
I have been following the Bren forum for a long while, finally plucked up the courage to join, very impressed with the posts, and have gained a lot of knowledge from the other members.

Hi, from Nth. Co. Antrim, N Ireland
As above, I am joining this forum because today I quite unexpectedly** found(while repairing a loft ladder for my mother, which involved lifting flooring in the roofspace)
My grandfathers UVF rifle, a L.E. I, dated 1898, Ser No. 5202 N, with a broad arrow stamp on the brass buttplate with the No. 540 beneath.
The rifle has a foresight protector, volley? sights, and the magazine is retained by a single link of chain. I believe there is a magazine cut-off fitted. I also found the matching bayonet.
There is light surface rust to the outside of the barrel, but the bolt and action are spotless and slick
Fortunately I am a long time member of a rifle and pistol club and hope/am reasonably sure I can add this rifle to my F.A.C.
Perhaps someone on here can advise if I can still get suitable 303 ammunition for this very early? L.E. rifle.
**Unexpectedly, since I scoured the farmstead and farmhouse some 50 to 45 years ago, searching for Grandfathers UVF rifle, obviously without success. I imagine a mischievous bachelor Uncle planted the seed, or perhaps it was seeing a photo of Grandfather on horseback in uniform, with his rifle. And I really must track that photo down.
Regards,
Marcus
