I don't understand the ammo hoarders

If society really does collapse like a lot of these dumbells with 100,000 rounds in their garages think, what are they planning on doing with it...wearing it on bandoliers?

I'm not going to have a spot of trouble using the couple cans of 308 I have to get more when I need it if the you know what hits the fan.....

I dont know where the shortage is anyway, I figure if you can get what you need in South Jersey you should be able to get it anywhere. A few days ago I went over to a gun shop in the Vineland, N.J. area and picked up 4 thousand primers, small and large pistol, and small and large rifle. Plus 2 cans of powder, 2400 & Red Dot. With what I already had, that will last me quite awhile. Also bought 4 boxes of 380 ammo @ 20 bucks per.He didnt have any Bullseye but said he had some coming in next week.

Along with that ammo there is an endless supply of water, MRE's and a first aid kit. The garage is impervious to armored attack, air strikes, and door-to-door searches by infantry.
Not to worry because the "enemy" will never be armed with anything but molotov cocktails, bricks, and small arms inferior to their own.

Should their 1/4 mile perimeter collapse, their vehicles can traverse the country unnoticed and will never encounter refugee traffic or checkpoints. They never run out of fuel and therefore there is no need for a line of supply.
They are the heros. The ones who never get shot and will take back America one square acre at a time.

    Anymore questions?

So Kragnut your going to use your .308 to murder your neighbor or local gun store owner to get more ammo, get a grip man.
Every gun owner should have a supply of ammo at home, built up over time.
When Obama got elected, gun owners without that supply panicked and started buying all they could at the same time which caused the shortage. Police Dept. have increased there ammo orders also which helped cause the shortage.

I have a whole lot of excellent quality ".308" (among others) that I purchased several years ago for ~15¢/round. My primary reason for buying it was that I knew the prices would go up. Now I can shoot to my heart's content without having to pay half a buck a shot.

Bought a good supply of Greek .303 HXP a while back.

Now since some folks say the shortage is artificial and supply will eventualy catch up, Please tell me where I can buy some more

Actually Scott, I wasnt planning on indulging in bizarre fantasies of apocalyptic America in the first place. I'll leave that to the ammo hoarders who are accomplishing what the gun grabbers never could.

In our local paper there are WTS ads (four of them) to get rid of large amounts of ammo previously purchased. Maybe it is starting?

Kragnut, good to hear it. I do not believe people are buying ammo because the end of the world is coming. Politicians are always trying to pass bills on ammo, huge tax increases, micro-stamp with Ser. # and so on. Obama got in and some gun owners with only a box or two per caliber decided they wanted a case or two per caliber, and the shortage began.
