    IHC Receiver Heel Stamps

Does anyone still have the URL of the photos of the various IHC roll stampings on the receivers? I was intrigued by a post on THR and found I hadn't saved the address either.

    Thanks!

Yup....I had the old addresses saved.......but, they have been "lost" with this new site format. Same with the Gunsmithing tips that I had saved.

    Aloha, Mark

PS........they weren't pics.......more like line drawings of the heels. Descriptions (postage stamps, gap letter, etc...), ser number ranges and production numbers. Really good stuff for the interested.

    Meanwhile try reading this..........

    IHC Markings

There are pictures of IHC heel stamps in the "Glossary" found at the Garandicon Collectors Association site: http://www.thegca.org/

Thanks guys! I just acquired an IHC 458xxxx Garandicon with IHC bolt and op-rod, gas plug, and hammer with an SA trigger housing and safety, SA 1-51 (re) barrel, and what appears to be an HRA stock with two proof cartouches and DAS stamp. HRA rear sight pinion. A rebuild, but in really nice shape.

I did a quick capture to MS Excel before the old site was taken down. See this: CMP Discussion Forum - IHC serial numbers page

I think I still have all of the graphics from IHC receivers along with the data that went with it before we move Joustericon. We tried to save as much data as we could before we move and before my computer died.

I will get back to you as soon as I go through the disc we saved. Maybe post it for future references.

I think I have all of the serial numbers for the IHC and Garands.

    I will take a look.

Thanks to all for your responses! Were there any SA barrels used in the early IHC postage stamp receivers in the post 4.44 million SN range? I think the two different proof stamps on the stock are the answer on my particular rifle, but I was wondering how long it was before the LMRs were used with consistancy.
