Beware: "Deals" in Punta Gorda, FL

I recently got ripped off by a new member of the Parallax Bill C&R forum who claimed to be selling a Swedishicon Mauser at a good price. I posted my tale of woe on the forum and was recently contacted by someone from the gunforums forum who had a similar tale. The details were strikingly similar.

My guy (fictional name, I presume) had me send payment to an address on Rollins Street in Punta Gorda, FL. The other guy sent his payment to a different name, different address but also on Rollins St. in Punta Gorda. According to Google Maps, Rollins Street, Punta Gorda, is a one-block long dead-end street with only a couple of houses on it. I figure these two rip offs have to be related.

I won't mention the guy's name because it's surely fake, but the addresses used were both in the 1800 block of Rollins Street in Punta Gorda, FL.

    Buyer Beware!

    Thumbs up

Thanks for the heads up ...

I think Gibbs505 might be right? I'm not an expert on U.S. laws, but it does sound like mail fraud.
