Some of Wolf's polymer coating gets left behind as each round is fired and it builds up in the chamber of my M1icon Carbine. One day before I was aware of the build up problem I was running my third box thru it without a stutter until the carbine failed to eject.. I could not retract the op rod by hand and finally got it open using a mallet..This is when I discovered the build up problem. It also told me the extractor was getting a work out. I won't buy anymore Wolf Carbine ammo but will use up what I have left but now I remove the polymer coating with a 3M pad and an electric drill. Here is a pic of what it looks like removed. I left some on the base for comparrison but normally I remove all of it.

It's too bad some people cannot read and comprehend what is being said. Oh and Uno it's not a rumor about the US Department of State issuing the warning about all ammo made in Russiaicon.

Shooting Wolfs .45's in SA Thompson. After 4 shooting boxes I discovered the compenstor slots were cloged with hard soot or residue. When I cleaned it I had to chisel the residue from the slots. No more wolfs for me.For some reason I don't have this problem with Remington or reloads.

but I strongly suspect that this "no russian ammo" thing is a mangling of this story about OLD CHINESE ammo (which I was fully aware of when they TForD'ed the contract) from last year.

No Uno it has nothing to do with the Old Chinese Ammo. Go to the government web site and you can get the info there. But one of the major contracts the Russians have is from China.(I still have yet to figure that one out) and the others are for Arab countries.

Which government web site would that be? The US Government has millions of web sites, how about a little help. I searched the DOS web site and there is nothing on Wolf or Russianicon ammunition that is pertinent to the discussion at hand.

I suspect this is one of those "I heard it from a friend who heard it from a guy, that heard it from a dude that is a reliable source" type stories since nobody can point to the source document.

    Right

yeah, it's right there, under "black helicopters" and "secret FEMA concentration camps in Arkansas."

Little Hint Bruce: "there AIN'T NO SUCH ANIMAL" of it would be EASY to find it.

When YOU find it Bruce, YOU can post it.

But if you can't find it, the "man-up" thing to do would be to aknowledge your error (and/or apologize).

The link to the story was on the MSN home page for a day or two. I read the article. Tried to do a search but no luck.

well Scott, I read the following pubs (among others) pretty much cover to cover and if this "story" existed," (i.e. EITHER that RUssian ammuntion was defective lately, or this even more silly story about Medvedev ordering no more QC (which would EASILY rate aa a HUGE story in the WSJournal), I would have seen it.

Likewise, it would be retrievable on Google at least. Easy fix to shut me up Scott or Bruce...(put up or..etc.)
