    ok - what to make of this NRF made MkIII*?

    Picked up this rare NRF made SMLE yesterday (lucked out). What baffles me is the odd buttsocket markings. No royal cypher and a-typical Mk markings. It is military broad-arrow stamped everywhere and military proofed as well as having undergone a BSA FTR in 1953.

    Very odd.

    What do you guys make of it?

    As a coplete layman when it comes to enfields, all I can say for sure is that you have a very sexy looking rifle there
