    New barrel for MN 91/30

I "acquired" a Mosin 91/30 that someone has shortened the barrel to 20 inches. I know it has been cut because the saw marks are there. Anyway, the bore is black. My question is this, would it be possible to rebarrel the action with a barrel that has a .308 bore or am I looking at more trouble and expense than it's worth?

I know I can pick up another MN barrel, but how good is the bore going to be?

I just found a GEM!!! I have a 91-30 with a pristine bore. Yes its true,, PRISTINE! I thought they came from the arsenal with sooted-up cratered bores, but I was wrong. They do exist!
