Put a cartridge or empty case in the magazine and cycle the bolt. Whenyou pull back the bolt the case should fly out.

Usually the broken ejector will flop back and forth. It should have a good tension on it.

I just fixed mine this morning with an ink pin spring. I did mine a little differently than you. My spring is on the other end. There is and empty void that looks like a place for a spring there. This mod was very easy, and took less than ten minutes.
