Anybody here shoot CMP .22 Sporter?

    http://www.odcmp.com/Competitions/rimfire.pdf

I'm going to shoot it again this year at Camp Perry. I've had a Ruger 10/22 rifle rechambered and recrowned for each of the two classes, one scoped, one with Open sights. I've never shot much .22 rimfire beyond 50 feet, and the CMPicon Sporter distances of 25 and 50 yards is a good bit more difficult.

Has anyone here put Millett open sights on a Ruger 10/22 rifle? They've offered the sights for some years, and I bought a set last year. I have not shot them enough to form an opinion, other than that they adjust and shoot a lot easier than Ruger factory sights on the 10/22.

I shot the CMPicon sporter match at the Eastern Games. It was a blast. I will also be shooting it at Perry. The rimfire sporter target is very generouse.
There are a lot of "cleans" in the slowfire and prone stages. The monkey wrench in the whole thing is the standing rapid fire.
Make sure you set the eye relief of your scoped rifle to be comfortable in sitting and prone. You can move your head a little in the offhand to get the eye relief.
