Just finished restoring this gem. A 1903 SMLE Mark I, no stars. One of the first made. Steel buttplate and all the proper trimmings. Must admit, we are very tempted to keep it. It will be on show at Bisley this weekend.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Yes of course I will bimble past; I'm hoping the NRA Museum will be open to do a bit of research, especially if it's raining, I don't want to get the No 4"Hart" wet!

Beautiful rifle and excellent restoration, you can be proud of this one for sure.
