    Talking Safn-49

I finally got an SAFN-49, 8 m/m, Egyptian receiver barrel assembly with a 30/06 top end and stock. I've been wanting a shooter grade SAFN-49 for many years and this one fits the bill quite well. The bore is mint and the headspace is 0.004" over go, so that looks fine. Like I said I've always wanted this gun as a shooter, do any of you fine fellows know of any grooming changes that would help me maximize the shooting potential? I have any needed resources to make mechanical changes so please feel free to suggest any reasonable mods. I'll be taking some pics to post as soon as I get new batteries in the camera, many thanks-SDH

    sdh1911,

You may find this PDF helpful.

    FN 49 Manual

Only thing I can think of is you needing to get your hands on a Bayonet for it now. I think its a sin to own a battle rifle and not have a bayonet for it myself.
