found true love RUGER Ultimate ClipLoader

This Mark II is the first handgun I bought in 1988. Since then it has gone through about 250,000+ rounds. I take it to the range virtually everytime I shoot and have 10 mags and run through all 10 usually in various drills and plinkings.

I figured the hot tip was a plastic soda cap to hold down the button, but MAN, I just got one of these ultimate clip loaders and it is AMAZING. Dump 70-80 rounds in the hopper (and I mean DUMP), raise it up and down a couple of times and you get 15 or so rounds all lined up ready to go. You then insert MAGAZINE in the slot hole and the button is automatically held and the mag fills like magic. Take out mag and voila! You are done.

Filled 10 mags in less than 2 minutes. No sore thumb.
    25 bucks!

If it works then it's the cat's as....er, dufus.

If I wasn't already using the Wilson loader for the MkII I'd probably give that one a go.

Will it work for MK 1 mags. I currently use a little plastic devise that slides over the end of the mag.

I am almost certain it does, but order one and if it doesn't, PM me (through the forum) and I will buy it from you. It works for just about any magazine with the side button.

in the pic it should work. The only difference in the MkI and MkII mags is which side the button is on.

I've read other good reports about these too.

I use a 12-15" piece of string looped and tied through one of my front belt loops.
The string "hooks" on the button and is pulled down easily while the other hand drops rounds in about as fast as I can drop them. OK, I 'm cheap.... but it works for me.

If you have not done so already, give the inside of the tool a little shot of Remoil from time to time to keep things moving freely. It makes a huge difference in performance. I ruined my first loader using silicon, which over time softened and ruined it. I also learned to spray the Remoil into the tool when it is empty rather than over the ammo inside. Spraying the Remoil over the ammo as suggested in the Cliploader literature led to a great number of duds and weak rounds. No such occurance when spraying the tool prior to loading.

This tool more than tripled my .22 lr ammo consumption. I will never be without one again.
