    I don't think that kind of camo was in use by the US in the ETO since it looked too much like Fallschirmjaeger camo. My guess is PTO.

    If you look at them side by side they look the same to me. The top pic just looks like he came from stateside. Too cleans and too neat. Camo was used but very quickly removed because it looked to much like the german uniform.

    Looks European to me. Not too many houses that well built in the island campaigns until the Phillipines.

    That camo pattern was used by some U.S. troops at Normandy but was changed because it looked to much like some Germanicon camo. In the early episodes of the TV program "Combat" Saunders were those camo pants. There is also a German canteen in the first pic, and it looks like the G.I. has used at least two of his clips. In the second pic does the first G.I. have a luger on his belt? Great pics Mark.....Frank

    I thought the same thing about the guy having a Luger/Walther as well. I guess I didn't think that pattern was used in Europe either. Learned something new today.
