Something Missing from most `03 and Krag collections...

...and I'm not sure everyone would want one in their collection!

Most of you have seen the old adds or heard about Bannerman, Stokes/Kirk, making up surplus rifles using 1903 and Kragicon parts.
Here's a project I just finished on what one would have looked like.

Model 1898 Krag rifle with M1902 rear sight
    Rifle barrel shortened to 22"
    1903 front sight
    Modified 1903A3 Barrel band
1903 two bolt stock modified to fit the Krag action/barrel.

Some day I might even try it out at the range.

A BIG THANK YOU to Rebound for giving up the modified`03 stock for this project!

    Hope you enjoy the pictures.
    Chuck

There was once a Bannerman's Kragicon for sale at a gun shop In Spokane that I stupidly didn't buy. Someone had added a recoil pad, but the rifle was built out of an original Model 92 Krag.

    Hi Steve
The stock was already modified to fit the Kragicon action/barrel. All I did was put the parts & pieces together.

    FWIW
In "the Krag Rifle" by Brophy on page 177 (IIRC) there is some information on these rifles.

    rlex,
Nice looking piece, thanks for posting the pictures.

I need to figure how you posted your pictures. They show far more detail than the Thumbnail pictures.
