Lawrence Ord. A1A's and T's...'oly cow, batman

Lawrence Ordnance in Sydney are now seriously ambitious, it looks like they're refurbing/making/rebirthing/something I dunno what T snipers with no 32 scopes

PS take a look around, they also do A1A's and others, nice site, top prices.

If they mark their refurbs in some way like they mark their reproduction offerings, then all is fine and dandy IMO.

They have gone up in price from when they were first advertised about a year ago. From memory they were first priced at $2500.00.

Lawrence got a lot of No32's (MkII and IIIs) and T receivers from a sale in rumor has it - India. All were marked "DP" on the barrel Knox and top or the receiver. Receivers were all BSA Shirley marked M47C.

The components went quite cheaply but the scopes were from well below average to average at best. I suppose the Lawrence boys kept the good best for there repos. Good luck to them Ts are quite rare in Oz.

Has anyone actually purchased one of their T's What is the condition of the scopes? And why are they all Mk1's and not 2's or 3's? Could it be that we are seeing the first of the No32 repros coming on to the market?

The story I was told (IIRC) is that these scopes come from a large quantity of rifles given to Nepal many years ago. The scopes had been removed and stored, the rifles used. Unsure how they became stripped of thier barrels (maybe they were scopeless T actions from elsewhere?) The majority of the scopes look to be Mk1's and in very good condition. A mate looked over the scopes and declared them genuine.

Of course this may only be spin...

    Peter,

You fixed two of the No32's last year (A Mk2 & 3) for me that I got from Lawrences sale. Internal water damage ring any bells?. Scopes for sale were a few 2 and 3's. I suspect LO kept the better Mk1 scopes for their makeup rifles.

They sold the receivers / barrel combos with matching serial numbers (all DP marked) and scopes on a first in first served sale with no pre-ordering allowed. Only a phone call or email after 0900 on the correct day.

I picked up a No 8 sight case for $150 and the dinsosaurous sighting adjuster for $90 all original. All in all a good but expensive buying spree
