    Greetings, gents!

Not sure if anyone saw the USMC 1903 Sniper rifle with Unertl Scope on Gunbroker... if not, here's the link.... the seller is asking a cool 18K for it! Please comment on what you-all think of this one. Take care!

Is it my eyes or are those scopes mounts looking a little odd?

I wish him luck on that $18K. He won't get it from me.

The handguard, at least, looks faked, as well.

    USMC sniper

It appears to be 100% correct and original. It does have the correct scope rings and handguard.

My apologies - I was thinking of another M1903 sniper rifle I had seen on either Gunbroker or Auctionarms. This wasn't it.

Still, a little pricey at $18K.

Not many guns on GB worth 5 digits, some worth 4. He'd be better off sending it an auction house like Julia's.

Here's another overpriced item on AA.

Too bad these sites don't give these yahoos some guidance on how to price their wares.

    Caveat Emptor.

The rifle being sold in the first post is from a dealer, Rick Crosier, who is not noted for pricing things too cheap.
A bunch of bad pictures and no information for a rifle priced that high. Is the bolt numbered to the rifle correctly or at all? Does the stock have any drawing numbers, or serial numbered to the rifle?
The star gauge looks a little pat, but is too out of focus to see well. The stock looks sanded, but has a deep SA/SPG cartouche. Normally the SA/SPG cartouche was not all that deep. It may be all correct, but I would have to see it up close.

Shouldn't the bolt be blued as well?

    Regards,

I take it the rifle is suppose to be one of the USMC rifle team rifles, and would be an NM with a polished and numbered bolt. Would love to see the polishing on the bolt.
