British troops fire 12m bullets in three years

Britishicon forces in Afghanistan have fired more than 12 million bullets in less than three years, new figures have shown.

Some 5.8 million of the rounds were 5.56mm bullets fired from SA80 rifles. There were also 5 million general purpose machine gun 7.62mm rounds.

More than 311,000 9mm rounds were fired from pistols, typically issued to officers.

There were also more than 150,000 rounds fired by attack helicopters. More than 16,000 shotgun rounds were discharged, most of them by the Parachute Regiment.

So no surplus Britishicon ammo coming on the market soon then?
Seriously though the best way to train is how your going to fight and I’m sure that would account for a good portion of this round count.

"Britishicon troops fire 12mm bullets in three years"

Your title is misleading or I need to drink less beer, I thought for a minute the British were adopting a new .47 caliber big bore hand gun for the military to use in three years. (howdah pistols)

It would be an improvement, you would fire less ammunition to knock the bad guys down with just one shot.
