    Pieces on Ebay

Hi guys, I just wanted to give a heads up to some pieces I am selling on ebay for a friend, they may or may not be of any interest as they are pieces pulled from his fathers loft as we are clearing the house out...

There is an original baby gas mask, the big type that the baby would have been inserted into in the event of a gas attack, it is dated 1939 manufactured by L & BR co.

eBay.co.uk: WW2 Home Front Babies Gas Mask Respirator 1939 dated (item 120134072519 end time 26-Jun-07 18:52:52 BST)

Also there is a lot that contains two tin hats and a pouch of some sort, possibly an ammo pouch, am sure someone on here will know precisely what it is...

    eBay.co.uk: WW2 HOME FRONT TIN HATS 1 X BLACK 1 X WHITE + SATCHEL (item 120134151034 end time 26-Jun-07 23:00:45 BST)

There is a flag that may be of interest to any Aussies reading this, it is a red ensign flag of the Aus navy believed to date from WWII

eBay.co.uk: WW2 RED ENSIGN Australian FLAG *RARE ITEM* (military) (item 120134148472 end time 26-Jun-07 22:49:51 BST)

Unfortunately we have found no firearms as yet, but this is not unlikely!

    Thanks for listening!

That WWII Australianicon Red Ensign is a nice item....

Looking for a WWII dated soldier's field gas mask if you ever come across one.

    Regards,

Are you talking about the earlier Canadianicon type with the long hose to a cannister? My local military dealer has dozens of these refurbished in their crates (crates of 10 I think). The cannisters were replaced around 49 at Cobourg depot, which was where the army used to send it's gas masks. Otherwise, the masks are WW2 production, and in minty shape.

Not sure what he charges, but if interested, I could find out. I'll be visiting his yard next week.

I remember when we used to pick these up for $5 at the army surplus store in Wpg.

I have another source for the packs of disposable face lenses which were kept in the gas mask bags. They are cheapy cheapy.....

I agree, was angling to keep it but my friend who's it is insists he needs the money so an ebay sale it is! Oh well, we also still have some stuff to clear from the attic so there may be yet more stuff to go,

    Cheers.
