    The seller ain't kidding...

...when he refers to this M1903 as a "relic grade" - definitely a Springfield only a '03 "gun nut" could love!!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. With which ship did it go down? I have never seen a rifle so rusted except for one that was buried for about 70 years.

Years ago in the back of an auction catalog was a Winchester Lee 6mm cataloged as having light pitting over the entire rifle. I looked it up and sure enough it was from the USS Maine, I bid less than $200 so as not to call attention to the rifle and got it for $135. IT PAYS TO DO THE RESEARCH!
