    Backwards Sight

Yesturday I was watching the E-Bay Q-RMC handgaurd sale. I got out My Quality to check out the h.g. It is as good or better, that was O.K. Then I started getting them all out to look over. I started to compare front sights and noticed this on my Inland that I got from CMPicon as a barreled receiver a few years ago. I never noticed it before, Da.....Frank

I have seen rear leaf sights turned around before, but not a front sight. Pretty funny.

That is about the fourth or fifth one that I've seen with a reversed front sight. Not all that uncommon.....

Jim, good point. I got this in March '06. I don't know if came from overseas, but was before the ones from Italyicon. I guessed it was from the U.S. The CMPicon had just receivers and barreled receiver at the time.....Frank

If not import marked, then it most likely didn't come from overseas. Some markings are hard to see, other bold as day.

Well considering I didn't notice the sight on backwards for over three years, I may have missed an import stamp also. I'll get it out and look......Frank

I checked it out, no import stamps or marks that I can see on either the barrel or receiver. So I'm thinking this was done by our Military and I wasn't the only one who didn't notice it.....Frank

    Early CMP Carbines

I picked up a Winchester barrelled receiver back when CMPicon had received about a 1000 of what they described as receivers with bad barrels for sale. I was my understanding that they came from Guatemala. Although CMP said to consider all barrels bad (probably why they didn't even check the front sights), my Winchester barrel was in excellent shape (headspaced correctly and had almost no muzzel wear).
