It is obvious that our current generations are not endowed with as much common sense as in the past. Is is because of the nanny state attitude or a matter of gene pool weakening as we grow away from being self sufficient and self aware. It is too bad as the child shouldn't have to pay with his life.

When I was growing up in the 50's and 60's we were taught respect.
for others
for our elders
for others property
Mother called it manners
And even if you didn't fear the long arm of the law and laughed at Det Joe Friday you certainly feared what the "OLD MAN" would do to your backside if you screwed up.
