I have two winchesters that are blued. The exposed metel has turned more of plumed brown color. The areas covered by wood have a shiney blued finish. My parked remmington has a grey/brownish matte finish. I have an eddstone barrel that has what I assume is a post ww1 park finish. It is a flat black except where the front sight was. There it is shiny blue.

Before you put it in the safe, take it to the range and shoot 50 rounds through it. Make your shoulder feel good and take pics of your targets to show all of us, offhand, bench, etc. It is a very nice rifle that has been through the arsenal rebuild. You wont hurt the value by shooting it. Unless you drop it on some concrete or something on the was to the range.
