Does anyone know if Norinco offers...

    any type of gunsmithing?

Have a "Type 56 Chicom" bolt action carbine, that needs a new barrel and stock. [1960 stamp above chamber on barrel]

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I would tend to think you'd be better off to find a gunsmith who specializes in those types of weapons. AZEX in Mesa, AZ comes to mind. I would think they could replace the barrel etc a lot quicker and cheaper then sending it off to Norinco.
The only exception I would guess is IF Norinco has a "service center" or a "contractor" they send it off to here in the U.S.
I once had an M1icon Garrand (a refurb) from Arlington Armory that had problems. They told me to send it off to Brownells in Montezuma, IA as they did their "warranty work"

THAT was a total fabrication!! Brownells does NOT work on firearms of any kind. They only sell gunsmith supplies, tools, parts, etc.

I think the poster asking about Norinco is SOL as far as "factory" repairs is concerned. IIRC, Norinco products are no longer imported into the U.S.

    FWIW,

"...Norinco products are no longer imported..." Norinco is in China too.
"...Type 56 Chicom..." That'd be a Chinese made copy of the AK-47. Not a bolt action.

You'll need to use a local independent gunsmith methinks.

All Norincos & Polytechs in the US were sold out of the back of a truck in a dark alley. No service, no parts, no nothing. As is, where is.

In Canadaicon, Marstar sells Polytechs, but Marstar provides the warranty.

EDIT: Thanks for correcting me Sunray, must have been brain freeze. But, if Chicom-made merchandise couldn't be imported, they would have closed all Walmarts; my guess is that BATFE must have determined that M14icon-clones are not "suitable for sporting purposes".

"...Marstar sells Polytechs..." Nope. They sold Norinco M305's and other Norinco rifles. The M305's are all gone. No more coming. Sold out of what they're calling a Type 56 SKS and the Norinco "JW-103" bolt action hunting rifle too. No U.S. sales of Chinese made stuff anyway.
