A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Commonly known as the ".22 Cadet" You appear to have the foresight hood that is frequently missing. Total production is believed to have been as high as 17,000, but could have been "considerably smaller". Retail cost circa 1910 was $14.00 CAN. If yours has stamps in the butt and/or a serial number on the barrel that would indicated whether it was a commercial or military purchase piece.

Not up on UKicon prices, you might ask the auction houses what they'd suggest; Weller & Dufty for one.

Here in Canadaicon, I'd guess a nice one would be not less than $250. CAN, perhaps more.
