    weird M1 Carabine

    Dear Readers.

I'm a newby here but there is a lot of knowledge here so please let me ask a question.

I'm from Belgiumicon and a couple of months ago I got this M1icon from my uncle. He got it for free from another person.

I tried to find what type of M1 this is but my resources are limited so that's why I ask your help.

This M1 is a Quality H.M.C. with number 4749276 with rock ola barrel. He seems to be ok but there is some adjustments for what seems to be a scope.

I searched the internet but didn't found anything similar.

Can you guys help me please?

    I included some pictures.

There is something you don't see everyday, it is purple like the triggerguards on the bavarian guns.Early features I like it! Are you and the rifle still in Belgiumicon? I only ask because I have seen mounts like this on old Germanicon hunting rifles.Maybe high quality custom gunsmithing and done in Europe? one of the real experts will chime in here.

    yes we are :-)

I don't have a permission to store life guns so this one had to be officialy deactiveted. It's sad but that is the law in Belgiumicon...Getting a permision would take about 2 years so...

Its a civilian conversion to hunting rifle. That is definately a scope mount, but I don't know what make.

another interesting thing to note: the slide is missing the slide-stop. looks like it was removed so it didn't damage the scope mount when it was in the "up" position.

I like the way the top of the slide has been bobbed so that it also doesn't hit the scope when mounted. I am curious as to the ejection patern with both a scope mounted and when fired without the scope. I bet the shooter gets a face full of brass!
