Can anyone help me identify my Lee Enfield No4 MK2?

    Hello all,

I have recently acquired a Lee Enfield No4 MK2. It is good condition and has a new barrel fitted.

Can anyone help me identify the year of manufacture and the factory it came from? The serial Number is PF196138.

You can see a couple of pics below:

    Many Thanks

    Paul.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Hi Paul ...

Here's a link to a Q&A thread that may help you get more answers and improve the quality of the ones you do get.

What can you tell me about my rifle? (click here)

On the surface from what you've provided as info, your rifle sounds like an FTR'd Fazakerley, but pics and more information on rifle markings etc., would be helpful.

    Regards,
    Badger

Update: Can anyone help me identify my Lee Enfield No4 MK2?

    Thanks Badger,

OK, I've added added a few pics in the following album:

    http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...3&l=302e95d9c7

On the side of the action is written:

    No4MK2 (F)
    /50 PF196138

On the top of the Chamber is stamped:

S with a stricked through cross

    Hope this helps?

    Cheer

    Paul.
