    Mauser 1934 Banner

Hello, am new here, am helping a friend, a 87 year old WWII combat vet, to value a rifle he brought back from the war. It is a Mauser K98 style rifle marked, Mauser 1934 Mauser-werke AG Oblerndorf an , SN is 98XXX, rifle is 100% complete and matching and is in 95%-98% condition, it looks brand new. Its stock has the Post office stamp. no sling, Bill picked this up in early 1945 in Germanyicon, He was a scout with Patton. Because of health problems he is having to sell off his collection of war souvenir's, he has some great stuff. Would like to see him get a fair price.

    thanks for any help

For those that may not be that familiar with the piece that remi is talking about, check the Germany - Milsurp Knowledge Library (click here)

There's an entry for 1934 "Banner" Mauser (Mfg by Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf a/N) (click here)

As to value, pics would be helpful, but if in all correct (see example above), all matching numbers and in the outstanding condition described, then it could be over $2,500, depending upon the current market demand.

I think the chances of maximizing value for him would be at public auction.

    Hope this helps a bit....

    Regards,
    Badger

Is this aka as the "Standard Modell"? Mint WITH capture papers is indeed real money. Worthy of Julia Auctioneers. High end folks. They will get real money for it.
