    [QUOTE=JohnF;82202]

Where did this info come from? I checked with the GCAicon to see what month they were going to hold the meeting in Springfield and they replied back there are no plans at all. If you know something the rest of don't, I would appreciate knowing what month it will held so I can block out time for it.

    E-Mail from the GCA:

    Hi John,
I'm sorry, I'm afraid you have received some bad information. There are no plans at this time for the 2010 GCA convention at all. We won't start planning that until after the 2009 convention is over.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John F. - Reason I mentioned Springfield Armory as the sight of the 2010 convention is that at the 2005 convention, which was held at SA, the GCA "set a policy to return to Springfield Armory every five years for our convention". You will find that bit of information in the last paragraph on page 4 of the Winter 2005 edition of the GCA Journal.
There may now be other problems with having the convention at SA that I was not aware of. Sorry if I jumped the gun.

By "making your intentions known ASAP" I meant that when the convention is announced by the GCA you had better respond ASAP if you wish to attend. Joe

There are 12 candidates for 9 positions and a nominating committee, per the by laws, endorsed nine they felt were the best choices of the 12 (per the bylaws).

Aren't you about three and-a-half years late on this?
What about those members who joined after the Winter 2006 Journal was sent out? How do they find out what the Bylaws are? The GCA does not post the Bylaws on the website, nor do they provide new members with a copy of them when they join the GCA. Does a new member have to buy a copy of the Winter 2006 Journal to find out what the Bylaws are?

Logically, if you want a copy, just ask. Of course there won't be a "Doniphon" listed as a GCA member, will there? You'll have to use your real name and email address.

Yes, from the Fall of 2004 to present. The older ones are being consolidated in a hard bound book covering about three years each. The first two books are available now.

I find this very interesting. Why does the GCAicon get special privilege to pick over CMPicon rifles? What do other shooting organizations need to do in order to get this privilege?

No, there won't be a "Doniphon" listed as a GCA member, because I'm not one.

And there won't be a Ramboueille listed as a GCA member either, will there?

Well, you could start by whining. Complain about how unfair everything is. Come up with some pathetic, lazy excuse about how the GCA members "always!" get special treatment. Ah, and it wouldn't do any harm to actually join the GCA. That way you TOO could all of the special things that we get. Must sign off now. Got a M1C that I cherry picked last weekend at the CMP South Store [$500] that I need to look at.
Point being that the same lazy slugs complain every time the GCA meets, no matter where it meets, and those slugs aren't even members. Pathetic sods that need to get a life.

I don't think that he's concerned with rifles (though I could be wrong) that are available to the general public through the online sales program or through any of the stores run by the CMP.

    Exclamation

    Hi Guys ...

I know how sensitive and sometimes emotional gun club type politics can get face to face, let alone in this anonymous posting world of the Internet.

This thread seems to be getting a little too personal and edgy at times, so I'd like to respectfully request that everyone involved here take a step back from getting too "heavy" in posting about the issue.

I'd personally appreciate any efforts to do that ....

    Thanks for your consideration ....

    Regards,
    Badger (Doug)
