No Enfield rifles this year but……….

Who knows where Ed was last week and why I can’t afford a new Enfield Rifleicon this year.

What is the name of the large body of water nearby, and what was this amphibious landing called?

I had coffee nearby the Honorary Plaque to the Invasion.

Mmmh, i think the landing has a capitol letter at the beginning, and the great water has an A as the first letter. And in the landscape where this french " Cafe' " is, are a lot of bunkers and a good, great museum.

    Regards

Small hint, three days before I visited this place in Franceicon I visited a Bordello that was over 2000 years old and my wife didn’t get mad.

Mediterranean. Operation Dragoon. I claim my free Enfield

Oddly enough Ed, I was just up the coast a week ago in the Alpes-Maritimes Department - Nice in fact. I dragged 'er indoors round a Petite Maginot Line Fort in St Agnes.

Practically every Frenchicon town has a road and at least one Cafe called Verdun.

Operation Anvil(later dragoon), Invasion of Southern Franceicon via the mediteranean coast between Nice and Marseilles. Opposed by Churchill as it diverted much needed forces from Italyicon where he hoped to drive into Austriaicon sooner.

Bingo we have two winners that know their history and geography.

You both win the chamber and bore drawings for a .303 Dutch Bren gun. (In millimeters)
