    CMP "Correct Grade" Jackpot!

didn't get much help from a recent post concerning value of CMPicon correct grades purchased last year.... in the mean time I've had the rifles appraised by a number of dealers, smiths, and collectors... they inform me that the recent CMP Greek returns were an incredible bargain and have skyrocketed in value, this is due in part to the fact that many of these Greek correct grades are in fact original rifles... everyone who has inspected my rifles believes they may have never been fired beyond anything they may have done at the factory... I've been offered in excess of $1,400 for each rifle... thanks to the CMP I hit the jackpot with this investment...

Whatever you decide to do with them, they were the buy of a lifetime. Probably the best value for the best condition M1icon rifles ever. They will only go up in value. They are something to be excited about. I'll be hanging on to mine.

...thanks for taking my back SN1!!! of course I have no intention of selling, was only interested in an appraisal and passing the info on... guess it's bragging, but that's what proud fathers do!

nice score Para....I'm feeling the same way about my HRA SG Greek return I got in 2006, it was a few parts away from all correct in the trigger group and is original bbl rcvr combo and appears and guages as unfired. and the wood was beautiful. see avatar.

Well sn1, that brings up the question......is it ok to sell it for a loss??

Look the CMPicon has been selling these guns for years to people that are reselling them, just go to a gun show and look at the ones that still have the boxes and tags on them from the CMP.

In fact they invited "dealers" to buy them when they changed the limits from two or four guns a year to 12, a few years ago.

Those of us that have been in this hobby a long time even sent names of dealers from shows to the CMP and they said they have stopped them from buying..but that hasn't happened.

They can't inforce the no sell rule. They just don't have the time or money to do it. They only hope that those of us who are naive won't sell ours

The plain facts are, once it is in your hands you can do with it what you want...simple as that.
