    to answer both questions.
first, make sure you ask them if the come with extractor and front sight keys cut, and a witness mark.
the taget barrel i just installed didnt come that way, and was shipped in the white.
read the range report on the barrel i installed a few weeks ago in another post.
yes, i do have a set price for barrel installation, if you cantact me direct, ill be happy to give that to you.
    as for the barrels.
the up front cost is a bit steep, well over 1500.00 out my pocket, so it may take a few weeks to get that going.
i have access to 1917 barrels right now,
P14 barrrels will have to be paid for in advance, i really dont want to be stuck with a bunch of 14 barrels.
need to get more info on the import laws for barrels to Canadaicon before this gets real crazy.

    Hi Chuck,

You're absolutely correct about the Krieger match grade barrel being in-the-white, unthreaded, no extractor cut and no front sight key cut. I realize it puts more burden on the gunsmith (and expense to the owner) as well as making it a more complicated process eg. remove barrel, ship to Krieger, get barrel back, machine, parkerize, then install.

It's hard to discern which barrel to go with when you hear successful range reports using good original barrels, two groove arsenal installed Johnson Automatic barrels and aftermarket barrels. If, after installing another barrel, my rifle wasn't very accurate, I'd be kicking myself for not going the match grade route. On the other hand, why spend the extra money if everything else seems to work just fine?

    I'll pm you shortly.

    Mark

I have a Winchester M1917 with a slightly pitted barrel. I would like info on barrel replacement costs and how to send the rifle to you. TIA
