    Early WRA bbl. question

    All,
I have had this rifle in my "aggregation" for a while.* I'm wondering if this bbl. marking is unusual.

Looks like a nice condition early Winchester barrel to me. Only 20+ thousand into the first block. Spring Tube?

    I didn't say only 20K were made.

I said " Only 20+ thousand into the first block."

I guess I was not clear. I was meaning your carbine is in the first 20,8XX made by Winchester in their first serial number block which was 1,000,000 to 1,349,999. Early Winchester's usually mean spring-tube.

And maybe technically that is wrong too. They had serial numbers 6-10 also.

No matter. A real nice early barrel, dated 12-42 correctly on a rifle built in Jan 1943.
