    Hello,

How well will the mount fit on a standard Springfield from around 1946 ?

What modifications do i need to make to make it fit exactly ?

Will you ship outside US ?

You will need either an M1D barrel or modify a barrel by reaming the rear portion and fitting an M1D scope block to it. This takes some real skill and tools.

You can also buy M1D barrels with mount blocks from time to time. But the repros are not very good and can lead to poor fits.

If you have a USGI scope mount, you really need a USGI original M1D barrel and block. Otherwise don't spend the money on a mount.

There is one other way to mount your scope. Go to this website:
Fulton Armory Home Page & go to "M1icon Garand Pages", then "Garand Parts & etc", then scroll down to "scope mount with weaver base". You can use this base if you buy TWO PIECE "Weaver 7/8" rings".

This is the "eye shield" that you need:
Telescope M84 This company also exports parts.

    Hope this helps.
