"I,ve Been Hunting A Carbonia Blue Model For A Long Time. Anybody Got One For Sale ? Prefer Unfired...."

Guy at a gun show in Richmond before Christmas had what appeared to be a matched pair but I had to leave to drive back to NoVA. Intended to go back the next day but couldn't make it. Was going to go down to another Richmond gun show this weekend in hopes be'd be there but the "snowmaggedon" was so bad my jeep is still stuck in the parking lot behind my townhouse. Maybe next month...

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Very nice! And a reasonable price, IMO. I paid $900 for mine, used, a couple years ago. I like your grips, I dig 'em with the dark stripes in the grain.

At that number, they stopped as promised, but the pistols were so successful they changed to the 01918 WWI model in the Black Oxide finish, with no such promises of limited production.

I got very lucky, and found a guy on another gun board that was selling the pistol above for $899. Turned out he worked in the office building across the street from mine! I just walked over there with the cash, and came back to my office with a new Roscoe, boxes, and all accessories. Those are actually the photos that he sent me before I bought it, my photos of it all stink.
The finish on the O1918 is still a "blued" finish, just darker almost black. There are also several improvements over the O1911, namely in the parts quality. Some of the items on the O1911 were way off of what were orginally used including the trigger, the O1918 version took care of most of those issues and the fit/finish seems to be a tad better on reviews as well. I love mine, has one of the best factory triggers I have ever used. And all of them have been hand assembled by a Colt gunsmith, not just the first few thousand.
