    Springfield 1903 NRA Sporter Confirmation

Looking for SRS confirmation on SN# 1367132. To date, my research strongly suggests NRA Sporter; has all the required markings and details.
Once confirmed, I will be looking for advice on how best to sell.
    Many thanks!

    Rod,
the best way to sell it would be to sell it to me.

Last year I bought two NRA Sporters. One had a filled sight dovetail slot on the barrel and an excellent re-finish for which I paid about $1,200. The other is a near perfect original with speed lock and reversed safety for which I paid $5700. You should be able to find a number somewhere in this range.

    Phrogpilot:
Sir, right now, I don't have an answer to your question. I continue to research this rifle and it's value. I have determined rather conclusively that it is a true 'unaltered' NRA Sporter. I confess that I am a rookie when it comes to grading of relics such as this; and, it appears that there are not many NRA Sporters north of our border. If there's a easy guideline to help me assess grading, I would be most appreciative. I do have values from the 29th Edition of Blue Book (kindly supplied by a senior forum member) that show values of $3500 for 95% condition and $4500 for 98%.
Please do not hesitate to PM with any questions or assistance.
    Regards,
    Rod

    55308,

I notice that you live in Canadaicon. If so, you might want to keep in mind there are a LOT of hoops to jump through before selling a rifle to someone in the States, if it can be done at all. You might want to investigate before you get too far. I remember selling an 1884 Trapdoor Springfield, a couple of years ago to a Canadian, and it wasn't easy. Do your homework first.
