Bavarian Reciever Drilled and Plugged
I just got a 4,935,xxx Inland. I assume that it spent time in OberoÖsterreich (Upper Austria) as it has LGK OÖ stamped on the bottom of the trigger housing. The strange thing is that the left side of the reciever has been drilled out and then plugged. Anyone know why this was done?
Thanks, Greg V

Austria & Bavaria
Your carbine should have a Bavarian agency marking on the top of the receiver to the left of the bolt. If it's not obvious, look close, the markings may have been obliterated by Bavaria before they handed it over to Austria.
Bavaria Forestry Police and Bavaria Game Warden drilled and tapped a number of their carbines, but not the majority.
When the Austrians received them from Bavaria, on some of them they filled in the holes and polished them flat.
