    1910 Bolo

Looking for something else I ran across this knife, forgot I had it. I collect Carbines and this doesn't fit my collection must be why I put it away.

Reading in Cole's #3 page 21, it is a Model 1910 Bolo. It says Springfield Armory made 59,095 of these between 1910-1918. This one is marked 1912.

The scabbard is different then the one shown in Cole's book. But it has the catch for the thumb release.

I was told the stuff on the blade was blood, so I left it. I know, stories are just stories. But it sounded good when he told me.

    Thoughts and comments please.

Can someone give me an estimate of current value?

    Thanks for the help,

    Jim

JimF4M1sicon-That is the nicest bolo I have ever seen.Beautiful correct bright blade w/blue handle and touch of blue in front of the handle. Scabbard is likewise very neat. Someone knew how to work leather. Looks like they kept the wooden rawhide wrapped scabbard body and professionally placed it in leather. Or-- you have a new, yet unheard of, contract variation. Very nice! Thanks for let us see it. SKIP
