A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Old news. The CMPicon cannot use them as they are not owned by the US military. The Koreans own them and will sell them to importers here in the US but don't look for any bargins as they want top dollar for them and most are very well used.

The Koreans originally were saying they would get something on the order of $1000 each for them. Now if they hold to that there is no importer here that will be spending that kind of money for a well used and abused M1icon Garand or an M1 carbine. Even if the price was in the $500 range they are not worth it. It will be just like the Blue Skys all over again. Much better off getting one from CMPicon.

We give them the guns and they sell them back to us for a profit. I don't get it.

I think we have something like 41 bases over there. Are we going to someday give them all the stuff there too?

For saving and protecting their butts all these years, they should just give them back to our Government and let them sell them for a profit. Heaven knows our government needs the money.

I'm sure that at the price the Korean government bought these carbines for they will make a nice profit on selling them to the importers.

phillydude, That was a $1000 each not 100. That was the translation of the Korean currency to US dollars as posted in their news papers as to what the Korean gobernment wanted for them. What they wind up getting is a different story as I cannot see anyone paying that kind of money to bring them back here. These are going to be like the Blue Skys that came in before. Many more lemons then cherrys. Then they may not even be allowed into the country if the you know who decides not to let them in.
