I have a lightly used Faz (1954 I think). Beautiful wood. Serial # 3407XX. Lots of info about them on the web.

$500 or BO + shipping. Not interested in trades.

Not sure what they were initially surplused at, but I remember seeing lots around for about $180. I had one in my hand at the local gunshop back around 2000, price was $220 still in the newspaper & grease wrap, but I decided not to buy it because the CFC gremlins had gone through the store and registered everything. I did not want to pay the $25 CFC fee.
    Boy, I sure showed them, didn't I?

Police Ordnance was selling these here in Toronto a few years ago, still in the brown paper wrap (all cosmolineicon) with inventory tags on them for $650.

They no longer have stock, but I have seen them at a few local gun shows in this condition for $550-$600.

I bought it the minute I saw the add.. No time to hum and haw. If I'm wrong, I'm happy to live with my purchase. I mean what's not to like?

Walnut was basically exhausted in Britian by mid WW2.

Beech was slightly heavier, but more stable than Walnut.

The vast majority of post-war Britishicon production is Beech. To the tune of some 450,000 Mk2s and (per LES) @360,000 MkI/2 &I/3s. Plus @100,000 No4MkIs built post-war but before the switch to Mk2 production (c.1949).

Of course large quantities of the MkI/2 & MkI/3s retained forends converted to Mk2 status.

This gun has arrived. It is gorgeous. Pics do not do justice. They make it look almost white, when in fact it is a beautifull golden colour with lots of character in the grain. It's been fired, so no glass coffin, this girl gets to come to the range!
