Trigger spring re-assembly (and other) tips

If you don't want to buy a trigger spring tool, stuff the trigger spring in an empty 30 carbine case, stick it in the hole in the rear of the trigger guard housing hole as far as it goes (gently with finger pressure), then take a small screw driver and pull the bent flange forward over the end of the trigger into the groove.

ALso, assembling the sear to trigger while it is out of the guard, use a shaft of a Qtip . Cut off one end, push it through while pushing the sear against the spring until flush with one side. Then clip the other end flush. Place it in and put the pin through from the outside, displacing the Q TIP SHAFT.

JUST A FEW TIPS I HAVE USED THROUGH THE YEARS.

As for bolt tool, GET one! I had to reorder a GI one this week, because I lent mine to a "friend" almost two years ago. He move away without returning it.

I use a rod, cut to the width of the trigger. Assemble the trigger, sear and spring, outside the housing. Drop in place and push out the small rod with the pin. I have heard of some guys using a cut down nail.

As for the trigger spring tool. It is only $10-$15. I would think you could even get some thin wall tubing the correct size and make one. But it is fast and no fuss trying to get it out like a shell casing.

These few tools make life easy, at least for me. It used to drive me nuts.
