    Photo help---Ferret Scout car

It seems there are a quite a few 'wordly' folk on here...UKers included

Im restoring a Mk2 Ferret and want to do it in Desert cam as the last use of the Ferret was in the Gulf War numero Uno

any and all pics of Ferrets would be super-groovy Kewl....Desert Tan ones doubly so

Tried a quick search and couldn't find one in desert camo.
Did happen upon this one, that I think is the same that you have. I'm not sure though. I'm not that familiar with these. Did notice this is in the UKicon.
    Good luck on your project.

The first link was a new one!!

    Thanks!

The interior data plate makes it a '61

Its actually a Mk1/2...in other words....It started life as an open top Mk1 and was later modded with a roof and turret...

You can spot those by the little grommets that would have held down the canvas tarp for the open top Mk1 still being in place, even though its a turret Mk2

presumably you'll need a M1919A4 to put inside it.

Various Ferret marks were definately down on Gulf one as we had them afterwards as well. We also had a Centurion ARV and a couple of Centurion AVRE's, one of which caught fire and exploded as I seem to remember............... But the paint schemes I remember were all just pale sandy yellow with none of the gaudy kakhi camouflage. In fact I recall a complete lack of deep bronze green landscape to blend with the kakhi camouflage of the imagination............
