A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Charlie, the inland photo is blurred... and I don't have the books when I ask this.... There are two take down notches for the slide in that receiver. I was under the (uneducated) impression that two notches was a later modification/improvement????

Interesting Inland because everything looks like original finish - the barrel, the bolt, the slide, the trigger and other small parts and the rear sight. Hard to say about the receiver and housing. It's obviously been rebuilt because of the Marlin barrel, but the bolt and slide should have been updated at that time. I guess you'd have to say it's a rebuild that has never been refinished since the rebuild. You could just as well say that whatever it once was has been corrupted by attempts to make it something else.
