A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... What a fantastic bit of film KevG. Jeeeeees, you wouldn't get away with that now! Even at the Small Arms school we can JUST get past all the health and safety and admin and protocol hoops that are put up for civillians to shoot but even then, 2 star approval is required................

Mind you, my lad Robert still accompanies me to the range and if it's quiet and the prying eyes are gone and one of the range safety staff act as close supervision while I control the range, then.........................

Enjoyed all the bits of footage. Yeah, Health and Safety. High schools in the US used to have rifle teams and shooting ranges in the 50s and 60s. They were gone, I think, for the most part by the time I was in high school. Graduated 1978.

I was quite surprised to learn that the Royal Gunpowder Mills offers a "hands on" experience. While this might not be "live firing", it is in glaring contrast to most U.S. school curriculum to avoid anything to do with weapons. I guess it is OK as long as everyone is just having fun! I am not against the programming at all, just surprised a bit. I don't think a principal here in the U.S. would authorize an outreach that would bring weapons into a school setting?? Wondering if the same applies to UKicon schools? My boy can't even wear a t-shirt that has a weapon as a graphic on it.

From a historical perspective, I applaud these sorts of presentations.
