A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I´ve long been trying to find out just how many (and which) parts were made in East Germanyicon for these VoPo Lugers.

Gun shows here in Germany had baskets of side plates and firing pins soon after re-unification. But what else did they manage to make?

They made approx. 50-100 new production Lugers. Highly prized by collectors.

It's a post WWI Reichswehr Reichsheer or, Army unit mark circa 1921-22. The mark translates to Kraftfahr Abteilung/ Infantry Regiment 14 weapon #31. (Truck Driver detachment for the 14th Infantry Regt.) This is a neat and fairly scarce unit mark.
