Flash hider pins?

This No. 5 rifle has been in pieces for so long I can't remember how I got it apart. Does the rear flash hider pin go in from the left side and the front pin from the right or is it the other way around?

oooh... Good question. The book isn't any help really other than to say the pins are tapered. I think the holes would have been finished with a tapered reamer, so they will have a large and small side too.

Best bet, make sure there are no tiny burrs on the pins. Measure them at both ends and use a marking pen to indicate the big end. Next, try the small end in both sides of the hole through the flash hider. It should probably go in a distance without effort one side and hardly at all from the other. Fit in the big side, the pin should lock as it reaches full depth.

If checking this way is inconclusive, keep chasing until someone can answer your question straight up.

Son's right. Just a bit of fiddling around will tell you. Don't hammer them in until you're certain. They should start in by hand too.
