The very early SC's have 6 groove barrels and they are nice shooters. The run of the mill rifle will have very nice 4 groove HS and they are very nice. The early SC's have a unique cut-off arrangement and are interesting.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Looking at the Stock Cartouches there are:
FJA, RA and the cross cannon on the left.
What I have read the RA is not supose to be on the SC rifles.
So is this a replacement stock ?
And does that effect Value ?

The stock you describe is a Remington stock; the gun is not correct as made. $800 or less. For an SC to be "worth" $1200, all parts must be correct for SC, in the correct finish without rebuild or any other post arsenal mark. Generally, it is better to buy an all correct, more common rifle than to spend more $$ on a rarer rifle with replacement parts. Exceptions can be made for VERY rare types.

However, an original 1943 sling in good condition is worth in the neighborhood of $150 (more or less depending on the condition).
