Re Cabelas posting
I do not think that will work. Try Cabelas.com. Gun library. Search Military arms. Toward the middle. Sorry!!

Cheek piece is a mess! If no crate and scope box, I'd have to say- No thanks!
Even if it does come w/ goodies, it would need better pics or a hands on inspection, providng that a proper cheek piece can be rounded up. But that's just me...

In service, both Armourers and the sniper could and often would, alter the shape of the cheek piece to get the right fit. Especially the left handers using L42's as I remember. Some had bits of smelly old suede stuck down and pulled over them.
Another old favourite for the L42 was a length of that pipe insulating foam rubbery stuff snapped over the barrel, right up to the end, including the foresight protectors (but leaving the actual sight clear of course.....). Secured with duck tape and painted. The instructors said it was a thermal sleeve (?) that would have no effect on the accuracy (true). The only problem was that it got moist and damp underneath and could rust if you didn't keep an eye on it. I used to tell the Armourers to leave it but just have a look inbetween the tank tape for signs of corrosion.
There, you know what the cause is if you've got an L42 with a barrel that's slightly pitted externally
There, another useless bit if Lee Enfield rubbish

I never understood why H&H put the cheekrest so far up the wrist of the butt. Nothing but a damned nuisance there, making it impossible to get a proper grip on the butt IMO.
Nor have I ever figured out the logic of the concave areas on the front of the cheekrest. The larger one is on the left, instead of where you'd logically expect it on the right, if it was actually designed to make it easier to grip the butt by providing clearance for the shooter's thumb.
But then I've never seen any explanation of why the Long Branch pistol-grip monte carlo stock that was so enthusiastically received during the wartime trials was not adopted either.
Not Invented Here syndrome probably.

The cheek piece was actually invented/designed for the P14 snipers and not the No4T's. We have the P-14 rifle and cheek piece used to trial what was the most suitable option. It was designed to be used by right and left handers, hence the two opposite recesses at the front.
It was only after it was accepted for the P-14 that the sniper wing decided to try it on the now 'new' rifle, the No4T. The rest is history.
That's why the original Enfield No4T's didn't have a cheek piece.
I know I've said this before too, but the reason why original Army/Ordnance (as opposed to some of the modern repros) cheek pieces don't fit too well at the front and need 'fitting' to even get them to fit reasonably, is that they were drawn up and configured to the P-14 butt and have to be adapted to fit the No4
